About your Acupuncturist

Sarah Napier

I was set on practising acupuncture after my first experience as a patient. I was travelling in Nepal, soul searching and training in singing bowl sound healing, when I injured myself during a trek in the Himalayas. I walked into a clinic in Kathmandu seeking help and experienced incredible physical and emotional relief from my first acupuncture treatment. The experience sparked curiosity, which grew into a passion to learn the art of acupuncture myself and eventually pair it with calming sound experiences.

My studies started with a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology Syndey followed by a further six month mentorship in fertility and pregnancy care. I have also spent countless hours studying and practicing a style of classical acupuncture called the Balance Method. This style of acupuncture is taught through a special linage of teachers, and I pay respect to my teacher Dr Sonia Tan who carries on the teachings of the late Shifu (honorific Master), Dr. Richard Teh-fu Tan who refined and shared this ancient wisdom.

I have worked diligently to integrate both evidence-based Western medical frameworks and traditional approaches, aiming to offer thoughtful and balanced perspectives on health and life. My core values include diversity, inclusivity, trauma sensitivity, and nurturing care, all with the goal of creating an accessible and supportive space for wellness on multiple levels.

Here’s a little about me personally — because sometimes it’s nice to know a little bit about the people you choose to work with. I live in Springwood in the lower Blue Mountains, though I grew up in Western Sydney. I’m a friendly, introverted, and creative person, and my life’s calling is to help people feel safe and experience a deep sense of peace. Besides running my own one-woman business, I'm an artist, a cat Mum and a nature lover. My hobbies are all creative. I love to draw, paint, crochet, press wild flowers and potter in the garden.
